Samuel Walker - Solicitor
Samuel graduated from Otago University in 2006 with a double degree in law and arts majoring in Political Science. He worked for Macalister Todd Pillips in Queenstown for 2 years before travelling overseas playing rugby in Ireland and Denmark. Samuel is part of our residential conveyancing division HomeLegal. He also works with David Butler and Char-Lien Lim on private client and commercial law.

- How would you describe your style of law/practice or your approach to dealing with clients?
I like to be always available to assist with practical solutions to get the right result.
- If you had a single piece of advice to give a person in relation to buying or selling a business what would it be?
Make sure you get advice from your accountant and lawyer before signing an agreement.
- What has had the biggest impact on how you practice law over recent years?
Spending time in law firms in Ireland and provincial New Zealand (Queenstown).
- When you are not being a lawyer what do you like doing most?
Playing sport, whether it be competitive club rugby on a Saturday or social sports during the week with friends.
- Who gave you the best piece of advice in relation to your legal career and what was it?
Mark Hennager – Dean of Law, Otago University: "Don't bother summer clerking at a big law firm. You will learn far more skills from spending summer at the Works or on a construction site".
- What is your favourite quote.?
